On August 1st, Henry turned TWO!
Every age and developmental stage he reaches is always my new favorite and this one is no exception. His imagination is blossoming– constantly pretending he’s a dog (“woof, woof”) or a snake (“ssssss”) or a crane (“Henry moving heavy stuff!”).
Henry loves sitting in our laps to read books. He has memorized several of his favorites and can now “read” to us too.
We listen to music all the time and Henry loves to sing and drum along to the beat.
He still loves playing outside from sunup to sundown (unless it’s thundering), fearlessly picking up any insect, lizard, frog, or other critter he finds. When it’s time to release them, he tells them to, “Go home to see daddy and mama. And eat breakfast.”
One of the best things about being Henry’s mama is that I get to choose every day– every moment, actually– to be compassionate and fun and affectionate and encouraging and really present. Henry truly inspires me to be the best version of myself. He fills my heart and satisfies my soul.
Happy Birthday, little love.
